Summary of what I have done for the past 6 years

Ever since I have stopped writing my personal blog 6 years ago, numerous things have happened in an alarming rate.

To give a brief summary of what I have done starting from 2010, I have embarked on doing my Final Year Project in Singapore Polytechnic, which involves creation of an application which is able to be displayed on Cisco IP Phones. This have to be done with conjunction on what I have been learning during that period of time, which is Cisco Unified Communications. This application is supposedly be able to display useful information, without the need for patients to have multiple clicks just to perform simple tasks like calling for assistance or for lunch. It also allows the doctors to have a clear overview on the levels which the patients are located at for easy reference. Even though this FYP did not eventually end up being used in the hospitals, but we still managed to enter the school's engineering exhibition, better known as SPINNOVEX.

After which, I embarked on to NS, which there were just numerous events happening all at one time, which is also hard to be written down in words. Towards the end of NS, it was a turning point for me as I have to decide if I want to continue studying in an university, or start working. The original plan was to start working, but I decided not to, as I have looked up online and seen that most jobs require me to have a degree, and the pay for Diploma graduates was real low at that time.

So I have ended up in NTU, studying Computer Science. It was definitely not what I was expecting as there was no spoon feeding here in NTU, instead we are expected to be self disciplined and study on our own. I have also faced multiple hiccups when doing some of the assignments as I am not quite sure of how to tackle some of the programming languages, which I have not done so in SP. Luckily, I have a bunch of good friends which I have made in NTU whom assisted me along the way, and a good FYP professor, who constantly guides me along the way by providing adequate feedback and improvements which I can improve on. She might be really busy, but she has managed to squeeze through a timeslot which I can visit her to provide progress updates and feedback to ensure everything is in order. Eventually, I did not do too well, only graduating with a 3rd class honours in Computer Science, specializing in Network and Information Security.

Job at SP 2010!!!

I am working at the Lenovo Booth once again!!! This time working under juzz1, which is the sales distributor this time for selling the laptops. The laptops offered this year are in much better specifications as compared to last year. The prices are also relatively cheaper.

Job in SP

I got a job in Singapore Polytechnic a month ago... Sorry for me not having to update my blog as i am busying studying in school and have not much time to write. The job was basically to sell laptops for the students studying in SP. I hope they will like our laptops as lenovo is selling thinkpads at unusually cheap prices (even though for school laptops they do change their parts, but it is already sufficient for normal uses. The laptop specifications are already much better than last year, whereby they have 4gb DDR 3 ram, which our year, it is too expensive to get it.. things really changed. The lenovo roadshow is relatively hard to do as we will need to persuade people to purchase our notebook... Not like Fujitsu or Acer, which they had a number of customers which automatically came to purchase our laptop. Our specifications are comparable to those sold by fujitsu.. These are the links for the notebooks sold in Singapore Polytechnic
1)Acer Value Buy(much better than our high end sold last year)
2)Acer Lightweight
3)Acer High End(doesn't have much difference compared to value buy)
4)Fujitsu Value Buy(Can be considered as high end)
5)Fujitsu Lightweight
6)Fujitsu High End
7)Lenovo Value Buy
8)Lenovo Lightweight
9)Lenovo High End (T400)
10)Lenovo High End (W500 Elite Notebook for high end uses)
as for mac.... It is still expensive so i will not talk about it...

Trip To Japan!!!

What a vibrant Osaka City... A city with advertisements full of Neon lights...

This is a poster in Kanazawa showing the recycling programme that japan has implemented.... This cannot be seen in Singapore.... Sadly...

This is a typical district in osaka... Electricity lines can still be seen strandling upwards in the alleys... Cannot be seen in downtown singapore....

HAHA!!! This is Changi Airport Terminal 3's plasma displays.... So Impressive...

Polytechnic Life..

Looks like my polytechnic life is much more livelier than secondary school.. My range of classmates also ranges as my class and 1b21 have frequent collaborations during lectures...Yeah that's my polytechnic that i am currently studying in... I am in Infocomm tech... Seems a cool course to everyone but actually it could be quite boring at certain times...
